Despair

there are times
when we rejoice
in the light
we revel in the dance
we needn't dream
because the dream is now
then there are times
when life just wins
when the world closes
in around us
when we feel alone
and abandoned
there are times when
money is tight
food is short
and hope is sparse
there are times
when dreaming of
walking away
is the sole reason
for dreaming at all
it is in these times
when you discover
what you are
where you belong
and what love is
